RouteGlow is designed with privacy as a core principle. All your health and location data stays on your device. We never collect, store, or transmit your personal information to external servers.

What Data We Access

HealthKit Data

With your permission, RouteGlow reads workout route data from Apple Health, including:

• GPS coordinates from your outdoor workouts
• Activity type (running, walking, cycling, hiking, etc.)
• Workout duration and distance

This data is used solely to visualize your routes on a map.

User Preferences

Settings like map style, distance units, color schemes, and date filters are stored locally on your device using Apple's UserDefaults.

How We Use Your Data

• Display your workout routes as a beautiful heatmap visualization
• Calculate statistics such as total miles and route counts
• Apply optional privacy masking when you export images for sharing

Data Storage

All data is processed and stored exclusively on your device using Apple's secure frameworks (HealthKit, UserDefaults, SwiftData). No data is uploaded to any server.

Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, or transmit your data to third parties. When you export a heatmap image, you control where that image goes—RouteGlow does not automatically upload it anywhere.

Third-Party Services

Apple StoreKit

Used for processing in-app purchases. Apple handles all payment information directly; RouteGlow never sees or stores your payment details.

Privacy Features

RouteGlow includes optional privacy masking to hide route start/end points (such as your home location) when exporting images for social sharing. You can configure:

• A privacy center point (e.g., your home)
• A masking radius (default: 400 meters)

Routes within the privacy zone will be hidden in exported images.

Your Rights

• Revoke Access: You can revoke HealthKit access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → RouteGlow. Removing access will prevent RouteGlow from reading new workout data.
• Delete Data: Uninstalling RouteGlow removes all locally stored data from your device.

Children's Privacy

RouteGlow does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app requires access to HealthKit workout data, which is controlled by the device owner.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Effective Date" above.
