Frequently Asked Questions
What data does RouteGlow access?
RouteGlow only reads workout route data from Apple Health — specifically the GPS coordinates from your runs, walks, hikes, and rides. We don't access your heart rate, weight, sleep, or any other health data.
Does my data leave my device?
Never. RouteGlow processes everything locally on your iPhone. There are no accounts, no cloud sync, and no analytics. Your location history stays on your device.
What activities are supported?
Running, walking, hiking, cycling, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, and open-water swimming. Any activity with GPS route data in Apple Health will work.
How do I restore my Pro purchase?
Open RouteGlow, go to Settings, and tap "Restore Purchases." As long as you're signed in with the same Apple ID you used to purchase, your Pro features will be restored automatically.
Why don't I see my workouts?
Make sure your workouts include GPS route data. Treadmill runs and indoor activities don't have location data. Also check that you've granted RouteGlow permission to read workout data in Settings → Privacy → Health.
Can I share my heatmap on social media?
Yes! Tap the share button to export your current heatmap view as a beautiful image. You can enable privacy masking to blur areas around your home or other sensitive locations.
What date ranges are available?
Free users can view the past week or past month. Pro users unlock past year, all-time, and custom date range options.
Can I view multiple activity types at once?
Pro users can enable multiple activity types simultaneously to see runs, walks, and rides all on the same map. Free users are limited to one activity type at a time.
What color schemes are available?
Everyone gets access to the signature neon color scheme. Pro users unlock 4 additional premium color palettes.
Do I need an Apple Watch?
No! RouteGlow works with any workout that includes GPS route data in Apple Health. This includes workouts tracked by your iPhone, Apple Watch, or third-party apps that sync to Health.
